Whether you live in or out of town, simply call or stop in at one of Material Possessions' two locations to make an appointment with one of our wedding consultants. We do always try to accommodate walk in registrants. If you are unable to make it into one of our stores, call our toll free number and with information provided, we can create an online registry for you.

About Our Product Selection

Material Possessions offers an exceptional collection of traditional and contemporary dinnerware, glassware and flatware for every lifestyle. Whether casual or formal, our carefully selected tableware can be customized to your own personal style. Included are the handmade pieces created by American and International artists for which we are known. These pieces always add that 'special touch' to your table.

Home accessories are abundant at Material Possessions and they make for wonderful registry items as well. What a perfect way to add texture and style to your home. Get creative and have fun!

The Registry Process

The process begins with your personal consultation....this is where the fun begins. With the help of your knowledgeable consultant everything from style options to color possibilities are explored as you create the place setting that expresses your personality and taste. At that time, table accessories such as serving pieces and utensils which compliment and enhance your tableware are also selected. Additionally, many couples also register for lighting, furniture and special accessories for the home, bath and office.

Next, your consultant coordinates all of your selections and creates your physical gift registry. This includes an optional custom photo of your table setting which is displayed on your online registry page.

Once you have registered, our sales associates will work personally with customers who ask about your registry. We are adept at 'walking' your guests through the process of choosing a gift, whether in person or on the phone.

Your registry will also be available online 24/7 for viewing and for shopping.

Updating Your Registry - You can update your registry at any point by calling us or sending us an e-mail and we will make the changes desired. This may include adding or deleting items on your registry, or updating personal information. Your registry will be updated online within 2 business days.

Gift Fulfillment - Since we do carry many artisan pieces that are hand crafted from all over the world, if something is purchased for you that we currently do not have in the store, we will send a 'Gift of' card saying what was purchased, by whom, and when you can expect to receive it.

From Us to You

Completion Program - Up to a year after the event, we offer you 10% off any remaining items that are on your registry. This offer is good for use on a single purchase for up to as many remaining items as you wish.

Friends Program - You will be automatically enrolled in our 'Friends Program'. For each friend you refer to Material Possessions who then registers with us, you will receive a $50 gift certificate to the store when the first gift is purchased off their registry as a thank you.

E-mail Your Registry Link - For your convenience, you will be provided with a link to your registry that you can email to friends and family at any time to notify your guests that you are registered at Material Possessions.

Local In Store Pickup - If you live in the Chicago or Winnetka areas, you have the option to select In Store Pickup for your registry gifts. This enables you or your guests to simply pick-up your gifts when it is convenient.

Ease of Shipping - Whether your gift was purchased in one of our stores or online at MaterialPossessions.com, we ship daily via UPS or the best possible method. In-store pickup is also available for guests who do live locally.

Gift Wrap - Material Possessions takes great care to assure that every shower and bridal gift leaves our store beautifully wrapped at no charge to your guests!

Price and Availability

In the event that an item on your registry becomes discontinued, we will notify you promptly and can also suggest alternatives. Product prices are subject to change without notice. Our online registry we create for you helps to keep track of any updates.

Returns and Exchanges

Special order and custom items that are ordered at any time during the registry are non-returnable and non-refundable. Monogrammed items cannot be returned.

After The Event

For you and your guest's convenience, your registry is available to you and your guests on our website and in our stores for 24 months after your event. This has proven to be a great way for family and friends to give you the anniversary or holiday present that compliments your style.

Your sales associate remains available to assist you with completing your table settings and with suggesting other decorating ideas for your home.

We encourage you to keep in touch with us as we would love to help you celebrate your 1st Anniversary with a 'paper' gift certificate to the store!
